II. 1891 zu geistlichen Konzerten: "Ich bin jetzt bereit, zunächst das Werk 'Concerti spirituali' vom Jahre 1654 Ihnen zu übersenden, möchte aber, ehe ich es thue, noch eine Vorfrage an Sie richten. Unser Exemplar ist nämlich eine handschriftlich angefertigte Partitur (ein volumen von nahezu 300 Seiten). Dr. [Emil] Bohn, welcher sie einer genauen Durchsicht unterzogen hat, sagt mir, daß sie nicht ganz correkt sei, und daß von diesem und den andern Werken die Original-Ausgaben sich auf der hiesigen Stadt-Bibliothek befinden [.]". - Der zweite Brief zu Gesängen des Komponisten Giovanni Legrenzi, die wegen einer Erkrankung Schaeffers erst verspätet abgesandt wurden: "Ich bitte Sie ergebenst, so fort nach Empfang mir einen Empfangschein für die Bibliothek des hiesigen Kgl. Instituts für Kirchenmusik zuzustellen [.]" (10. IV. 1891). - Schaeffer avancierte in Breslau zum Nachfolger von Carl Reinecke als Leiter der "Singakademie" und Dozent am akademischen "Institut für Kirchenmusik". Er prägte dort vierzig Jahre lang als Universitäts-Musikdirektor das musikalische Leben. - Ein Brief mit langem Einriss entlang des Falzes und Spuren alter Faltung verso.
