Text…is clean and free of marks, binding tight and solid. The Treasure of Bird Island (Czech: Poklad ptacího ostrova) is a 1953 Czechoslovak animated film directed by Karel Zeman. The film, based on a Persian fairy tale, was Zeman's first feature-length work. The soundtrack includes verses by Frantiek Hrubín, read by children, as well as an original film score by Zdenek Lika The film's style is an experiment in combining two- and three-dimensional animation, including hand-drawn backgrounds and figures animated in relief. The production design is based on the traditional manuscript-illustration style of Persian miniatures. Karel Zeman (November 3, 1910 April 5, 1989) was a Czech film director, artist, production designer and animator, best known for directing fantasy films combining live-action footage with animation. Tearing along upper joint ends and some chipping to spine head of 1940 volume covers, the chip measuring approx. 1/2-inch deep and the longer of the tears approx. 2-inches long.
