Wie sich zeigt, gibt es Frage- und Exklamativsatztypen, die mit mehrfachen Frageelementen von Muttersprachlern als ungrammatisch bewertet werden und deren Existenz auch nicht in großen Korpora des Italienischen und Französischen bestätigt werden kann. Einige Beschränkungen, die in dieser Arbeit beobachtet werden, sind in der vorhandenen Literatur bereits bekannt (vgl. Obenauer 1994, Den Dikken & Giannakidou 2002 zu Fragesätzen mit Partikeln wie frz. diable bzw. engl. the hell; Castroviejo 2006, Rett 2008 zu Exklamativsätzen und Lambrecht 1996 zu ähnlichen Beschränkungen in Spalfragen). Die meisten Analysen in der Forschungsliteratur sind jedoch auf einen bestimmten Frage- oder Exklamativsatztyp ausgerichtet (z.B. Fragen mit Partikeln oder Spaltfragen) oder auf sogenannte Gradexklamativsätze. Es stellt sich daher die Frage ob, und wenn ja, wie diese Analysen auf andere Frage- und Exklamativsatztypen übertragen werden können. Die vorliegende Studie geht von der These aus, dass die meisten Beschränkungen in Frage-und Exklamativsätzen mit mehreren Frageelementen einheitlich als Interventionseffekte erklärt werden können (vgl. Beck 2006, Mayr 2013). Wie sich zeigen wird, sind solche Frage-und Exklamativsatztypen mit einem Fokusoperator verbunden, der einen Interventionseffekt auslöst. Der Vorteil einer solchen einheitlichen Beschreibung ist evident, denn damit können viele auf den ersten Blick verschiedene Phänomene zusammengeführt werden.

The series will continue to deliver new impulses for research and maintain the central insight of linguistics that progress can only be made in acquiring new knowledge about human languages both synchronically and diachronically by closely combining empirical and theoretical analyses. To this end, we invite submission of high-quality linguistic studies from all the central areas of general linguistics and the linguistics of individual languages which address topical questions, discuss new data and advance the development of linguistic theory.; Diese Studie untersucht, ob im Französischen und Italienischen die Verwendung mehrerer Frageelemente in einem Fragesatz (z.B. engl. Who ate what ) möglich ist.
