Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Good. 2nd Edition. Brisbane, W.R. Smith & Paterson Pty. Ltd., 1964 (second edition)/ [1952]. Large octavo, xxxiv, 299 pages with numerous illustrations (by James Wieneke, some in monochrome) plus 208 plates (mainly from photographs, 19 in colour) and a double-page map. A 'wide and general account of life on the cattle runs of the Channel Country', its natural history and the Aboriginal inhabitants. Provenance: Dick Kimber (Richard Glyn Kimber AM, 1939-2024, Centralian author and historian), with his occasional annotations. The most significant of them is a 116-word 'review' of the book written in ballpoint pen on the dedication page. Much is obviously rather "romantic", some appears to be plagiarised (additional notes for additional photographs plus, perhaps, more). Very difficult book to assess'.…
