Large, slim quarto (29.5cm); publisher's blue gilt-lettered cloth, top edge gilt; 44pp.; black and white frontispiece, nine leaves of plates (collated complete). Just a hint of wear and faint surface scratches to cloth, else a Very Good to Near Fine example. Inscribed and signed by the author on limitation page, "Dear Gilbert, In friendship - and in memory of a lot of sun / Claude Houghton." Additionally inscribed and signed by the artist, "Dear Gilbert - Not content with purloining ten pages of this book, I must needs steal this one too, from friend Houghton. A 'Beastly' gesture quite in keeping with the title, and the spirit of my country. Alfred E. Kerr."
