Presentation copy by the author to actress & singer Audrey Meadows (The Honeymooners' Alice Kramden) signed & dated in 1991. "Best wishes to Audrey -- a g…reat little actress -- Jean King". Also, King wrote, "Compliments of Forrest & Billie Meadows" (with city & state). Laid in is a printed seal from the previous bookseller's plastic bag in which the book was stored, stating, "Audrey Meadows Estate Beverly Hills, CA". Also laid in is glossy printed bio of the author, "the granddaughter of Maggie Meadows Beach who at the tender age of thirteen valiantly defended her homestead against the hostile Apaches." Arizona Charlie Meadows had a rich & illustrious life as gold-seeker in the Klondike, cowboy, & wild west showman. Much info on early Arizona is published in this book through the lens of the family's history. Fine. Scarce signed, & even though Audrey did not sign this copy, it is still a very nice association copy in vg dj. Signed by Author(s).
