1p., 4to. Bifolium. Fair, on aged paper. Addressed, with postmarks, on the reverse of the second leaf, 'To Mr William Strahan | Printer | New Street Fetter Lane | London'. He begins by reminding Strahan of his 'Promise to let me have one of the first and best copies of Mr Robertsons History of Charles the 5th now in the Press'.…Home expects 'noble entertainment' from the book (published by Strahan in 1769), adding, confusingly, 'there are Ships from London to Yarmouth every week - I suppose I shall know next week how my application will be relished by these Eyes of the Church'. He ends 'Now you will not condescend to give me a little hint of the state of your Politics, buried as I am in this remote corner where there are no materials to make you the least return. I hope you are well. Adieu. I am affectionately yours | [signed] Home'. On 10 February 1768 Home had taken as his third wife Abigail-Browne (d.1814), daughter of John Ramey of Yarmouth.
