I no longer have an PlayTape player so I have not tested the cassette. Small parts of tape have been pulled loose but tape is not torn. The label has the ID numbers 0517 and T-2280. There… are no copyright dates so 1965 is when the album version was released. Wear to label which is no longer attached to PlayTape cassette. Red streak to label. Glue residue plus the number 517 to Playtape cassette. Scratching to rear of cassette. Small felt square is missing. Cassette is black in color. Enthält "Tom Dooley", "The Tijuana Jail", "Raspberries, Strawberries", "The merry little Minuet", "Whe…re have all the Flowers gone.", "Scotch and Soda" u.a. Das Trio, das bereits seit 1954 als "Dave Guard and the Calypsoians" als Amateurband auftrat, wurde 1957 entdeckt und als KIngston Trio bereits mit ihrer ersten LP und besonders deren Single-Auskopplung "Tom Dooley", einem Nr.1-Hit, international sehr bekannt. Sie nannten sich nach der Hauptstadt Jamaicas, da ihr Repertoire neben traditionellen amerikanischen Folksongs auch Calypsos und lateinamerikanische Stücke enthielt, auch Country- und Gospeleinflüsse sind vorhanden. Mit ihren unkomplizierten und harmonischen Interpretationen erreichten sie ein viel größeres Publikum als die reinen Folkkünstler und trugen damit wesentlich zur Ausbreitung des Folkrevivals der späten 1950er und frühen 1960er-Jahre bei. Während die Puristen ihre Musik als Pseudofolk und zu wenig politisch (links) orientiert ablehnten, rechneten andere Folker wie Bob Dylan, Doc Watson, Joan Baez oder Musiker wie Stephen Stills, David Crosby u.v.a. sie durchaus zu ihren frühen musikalischen Einflüssen.
