Original "Pocket Kipling" edition of 1920 has been rebound with sturdy black-covered boards, possibly by a library although there are no library marking or indications. Corners square, boards intact with only one or two very minor spots of wear. Title in gold to front board and spine, bright on spine but less so on front. Half-title has a 3/4" tear inward from fore-edge and 1.5" tear from bottom edge adjacent to spine. Title page and Table of Contents have one patch apiece of some sort of matter that seem to be remnants of some kind of paper that was once tipped in and then became stuck through humidity or some such action. The patches are not very big and detract little. No names, underlining, marks, dogears, etc. internally; all is present and shipshape. Top edge gilt. Pages remain as clear and legible as they were a hundred years ago. An excellent, unusually durable copy, suitable for taking on a boat journey or other adventure potentially hazardous to books.
