Der Tier- und Pflanzenüberzug dieser Tonnen ist das Thema dieses Aufsatzes. Mit dem Fundort gekennzeichnete Proben der submarinen Fauna und Flora gaben Aufschluß darüber, "wo die Einwirkungen maritimer Einflüsse ganz allmählig denen des Flusses Platz machen".- 1872 ernannte die Universität Kiel Kirchenpauer für die vorliegende Untersuchung zum Dr phil. ehrenhalber.- NDB XI,641.
