Cloth. Condizione: Very Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Good. Edition not Stated. This 215 pp. indexed book is a classic window into life in the legendary Kentucky First Brigade. It started with 5000 volunteers from Kentucky, and after 9 major Battles, near the end of the war, they were down to 900 survivors. They were given the name Orphan Brigade, because they were from a neutral State and thus could enlist no reinforcements. This is Johnny Green's story, as he fought in the unit throughout the war, and lived until 1920. Some historic pictures interspersed. The book is in great shape. The jacket has several 1/2" pieces missing from the upper corners, and along the upper edge. Otherwise intact, it actually presents rather well in a clear archival protector. Photos upon request.

Cloth. Condizione: Very Good + +. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good. Edition not Stated. This 217 pp. indexed book contains the journals of one of the members of the legendary Orphan Brigade, so called because it formed in Kentucky, a Neutral State. As such, neither the Union nor the Confederacy would supply them any more troops than their original 5000. They had a remarkable battle record, and were in 9 major engagements during the course of the war. They ended the war as a Cavalry Unit with only 900 of their original 5000. Light top edge bumping, else very good +. Photos upon request.
