Alle Variationen aus dem Werkzyklus Sunburns - Sonnenbrände sind das Ergebnis eines mehr oder weniger starke…n Prozesses der Zerstörung durch die Licht- bzw. Wärmestrahlung der Sonne: rund, oval oder, je nach Belichtungszeit langgezogen - eingebrannt in die jeweilige Filmemulsion. Die Belichtungszeit kann Sekunden, Minuten, aber auch Stunden dauern. Das Kameraobjektiv wird bei diesen Aufnahmen direkt in die Sonne ausgerichtet, während der Belichtung ist die Kamera auf einem Stativ fixiert. Die Strahlungsintensität der Sonne, je nach Wetterlage abgeschwächt oder unterbrochen durch Bewölkung während der Belichtung, sowie das verwendete Filmmaterial und die Einstellungen der Kamera bestimmen das Ergebnis. Aber auch auf Grund unterschiedlicher Methoden der Filmentwicklung lassen sich unterschiedliche Ergebnisse erzielen. Auf dem Weg zum fertigen Sonnenbild spielen zahlreiche variable Faktoren eine Rolle, die in den Arbeiten von Claus Stolz eine enorme Varianz hervorbringen. Der Fotokünstler Claus Stolz (*1963) lebt und arbeitet in Mannheim. Seine Arbeiten wurden unter anderem von der galerie photonet, Wiesbaden, der Photo Edition Berlin und in verschiedenen Museen und Kunstvereinen gezeigt.
