A magnificent edition of the complete musical score of Richard Wagner's renowned three-act opera, "The Mastersingers of Nuremberg": Die "Meistersinger von Nürnberg" [as it was called in the original German] is an opera that has a unique place in Richard Wagner's oeuvre. It is the only comedy he wrote. As well, this is the only Wagner- opera that has does not revolve around a myth or legend. Instead, it is set in a clear historic time and place. Furthermore, this is the only opera which story was written by Wagner himself.
