Vorhanden sind: -zahlreiche handschriftliche Briefentwürfe sowie handschriftliche und maschinenschriftliche Liquidationen über Gasmessungen / Untersuchungen des Leuchtgases (insgesamt 10 handschriftliche und fünf maschinenschriftliche Schriftstücke) von Wilhelm Eschweiler -zwei Briefe des Gasanstalt-Direktors Leonard Körting (1834-1930) -zwei Briefe des Bürgermeisters Heinrich Tramm (1854-1932). Die zwei Briefe von Leonard Körting (Hannover, 11. und 14. Dezember 1914) mit gedrucktem Briefkopf der Gasanstalt Hannover; gerichtet an Wilhelm Eschweiler. Körting bittet Eschweiler um einen Besuch, um mehr über ein Verfahren zu erfahren, "das Cyan aus dem Gase durch Einführung von reinem Schwefel abzuscheiden, und um zu bestimmen, ob das Verfahren für uns anwendbar ist, müssen die Mengen von NH3 CO2 H2S und CN im Rohgase bestimmt werden. Wir sind hier keine großen Chemiker und bitten Sie deshalb um Hülfe. Die Sache hat einige Eile, denn ich muß der Fabrik, mit der ich jetzt Vertrag habe, im Laufe dieses Monats kündigen und muß vorher mehr über das neue Verfahren Bescheid wissen." --- Auf der Rückseite des ersten Briefes Konzept der zustimmenden Antwort von Eschweiler. Die zwei Briefe des Bürgermeisters Heinrich Tramm (Hannover, 9. Oktober 1901 und 20. September 1904) mit gedrucktem Briefkopf des Magistrats von Hannover; gerichtet an Wilhelm Eschweiler. Im ersten Brief wird Eschweiler gerügt, dass seine "Berichte über die Beschaffenheit des von der Gasanstalt gelieferten Gases [.] für die Zeit vom 20. Juli bis 28. September d.J. nicht zugegangen" sind und gebeten, "wenn Ihre Abwesenheit von Hannover sich auf mehrere Monate erstreckt, rechtzeitig Mittheilung und Vertretungs-Vorschläge zugehen zu lassen. Im zweiten Brief erklärt sich Tramm "damit einverstanden, daß infolge Ihrer Beurlaubung zur Erstattung eines Gutachtens im Interesse der deutschen Industrie in Nordamerika die regelmäßigen Untersuchungen des hiesige Leuchtgases während ihrer Abwesenheit unterbrochen wird." Ein weiterer, späterer Brief des Magistrats (Hannover, 6. März 1916) entbindet Eschweiler von der Pflicht, täglich Berichte über die Beschaffenheit des Gases abzuliefern, da die letzten Ergebnisse gleichmäßig waren. Dieser Brief ist nicht vom Bürgermeister signiert, sondern vertretungsweise "Bock" (d.i. wohl der Magistratssekretär Wilhelm Bock). Zustand: Bis auf ein Schriftstück sind alle Blätter seitlich gelocht. Papier gebräunt und etwas fleckig, teils mit leichten Randschäden. Die maschinenschriftlichen Schriftstücke von Eschweiler liegen als Durchschlag vor. Signatur des Verfassers.
