Auf dem Kolloquium konnte gezeigt werden, wie das von Gienow und Hellwig 1992 entwickelte Konzept einer prozessorientierten Mediendidaktik fortgesetzt und spezifisch für internetbasiertes Lernen in der Wissens- und Informationsgesellschaft im Sinne einer kritischen Reflexion weiter entwickelt worden ist. Dazu tragen unter anderem Forschungen zu Multiliteracies bzw. Multiple Literacies bei. Für das Konzept einer kritisch-reflektierenden Mediendidaktik werden folgende Thesen abgeleitet: Erstens versprechen insbesondere Konzepte des Blended Learning eine effektive Nutzung elektronischer Medien im Rahmen eines weiten Ansatzes zu Multiple Literacies und lernerorientierter pädagogischer und didaktischer Konzepte. Zweitens ist der kritisch-reflektierende Umgang mit Medien eine entscheidende Kompetenz mündiger Bürger und Bürgerinnen. Sie findet einen wichtigen Niederschlag im Konzept der Critical Literacy.
