A nearly unique item scarcely available to the trade or anywhere else in this state and condition. Published in Berli…n by Hermann Freise, the first volume in 1912, the second, two years later. Volume I bound in light blue card stock wraps, sans original slip-case, sunned and mildly soiled along the edges but remarkably sturdy and bright on interior. Comprises 56 tipped-in, duotone illustrations, neatly and tightly affixed in each case. Many unopened top edges that bespeak its untrammeled presentation. Volume II is in Very Good+ condition, with just a bit of wear and tear to edges light paper scuff at middle spine, now encased in its original, vertically opening slip-case, extremely rare, the slip-case is, printed and illustrated, moderate wear to tips and edges, but still bright in its tri-tone appearance, the spine and rear panel of the slip-case serving as publisher's advertisement for in-print and soon-to-be published items. 176 tipped-in illustrations, also duotone, just as neatly affixed, also with top-edges unopened, even cleaner and brighter of interior than Volume I.
