LANZMANN, anticolonialista, denunciò la repressiobne francese in Algeria; dal 1970 regista (celeberrimo il fil-mfiume "Shoah", il primo di una trilogia su Ebraismo e Israele), sceneggiatore e produttore cinematografico, medaglia della Resistenza, incontrò nel 1952 Jean-Paul Sartre e Simone de Beauvoir, dei quali divenne amico; fu compagno della de Beauvoir dal 1953 al 1959[2]. Da allora non ha mai smesso di collaborare alla rivista "Les Temps Modernes".
