Third printing (as stated upon copyright page; originally published 1942) INSCRIBED AND SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR. 115 pages. Hardcover: H 20.25cm x L 13cm. Dust jacket rubbed; nicks, minor chips, and tears at edges; past owner's ink note on front flap and ink underlining to some text on rear panel. Light blue cloth with gilt stamped… lettering to spine and front board. Author's eight-line ink inscription to a Cleveland, Mississippi Presbyterian minister who further added his own seven-line ink note commenting on attending an Ole Miss-Mississippi State football game in November 1955. A few spots of foxing to interior pages which are otherwise clean. Binding is firm. A very good+ copy in a very good- dust jacket. Mother Berry (Modena Lowrey Berry, 1850-1941) co-founded Blue Mountain College with her brother General Mark P. Lowrey (1860-1930) in 1873 and served as College Mother for 68 years.

He was aided by Bedouin of the Rashid tribe and he describes the desert, its peoples, and wildlife in tender detail. Bertram Thomas (1892-1950) served in Iraq and Jordan before being Wazir to Taimur bin Feisal, the Sultan of Oman, between 1925 and 1932.
