Benjamin Williams Leader RA (1831-1923) was a successful English landscape painter, taking inspiration from the countryside of Worcestershire, the Severn Valley and Wales. His early works were influenced by the Pre-Raphaelites but in his later years he adopted a more impressionistic style, which proved to be more popular. A page of publisher's advertisements to the rear. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally very smart, with minor wear to the extremities and head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for some offsetting to the end papers and the odd handling mark. Plates remain in a lovely condition. Very Good Indeed. book.
