Aggiungi al carrelloHardcover. Condizione: Very Good. No Jacket. In overall very sound. clean and presentable condition. Decorative cloth boards and spine depicting mystic scenes. The title lettering to the spine is still lovely and crisp and that on the front boards is still very clear, although there is a fair bit of discolouration to the boards so that it is difficult to determine their original colour. The extremities are a touch frayed and knocked and there's a small split in the spine cloth at the bottom hinge of the front board of maybe half a cm. There is a rather faded label of a local Parish lending library on the bottom half of the front board which reads "Hainton Sixhills Parish Library" a place close to Market Rasen on Lincolnshire. The only other evidence of library marks is a neat catalogue number, 256-G, on the front free end paper in the top corner. So basically the book was once housed in a small village unofficial library by the looks of it. Internally there are no inscriptions and the book is pretty sound on its binding apart from the back section which shows a little cracking at the hinge, visible internally, at the gutter edge. There is a touch of mild foxing and toning here and there which is mostly confined to the end papers and page block edge. 14 pages of publisher's advertisements at the rear including some of Mr. Suffling's other works which seem equally scarce. There's a tiny Boots Bookselling Dept sticker at the foot of the back paste down. In all this is a super copy of a very scarce first impression. Photos available promptly on request.
