Aggiungi al carrelloNo Binding. Condizione: Very Good. Drawn By Spy (illustratore). First. A fine original colour lithograph from Vanity Fair, a magazine which was published from 1869-1914, featuring a large caricature portrait each week. These were drawn by various artists, the most famous of whom was Leslie Ward who used the 'nom de crayon' of "Spy". This portrait will come mounted/matted and ready to frame using archivist quality materials, mount size 18 x 12 inches, 47 x 31 cms. It will be presented in a cellophane wrapper with our label guaranteeing authenticity. We pack very well, between sheets of hardboard. This is an excellent opportunity to purchase a portrait of Col Robert Lindsay, VC, MP, with the caption "The Victoria and Geneva Cross". With accompanying biographical details. Brigadier-General Robert James Loyd-Lindsay, Baron Wantage of Lockinge, VC, KCB, FRS, (April 16, 1832 - June 10, 1901) was a Scottish recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British forces. He was later a notable MP, a benefactor to Wantage, one of the founders of the British Red Cross Society, for which he crucially obtained the patronage of Queen Victoria, and a distinguished philanthropist and luminary of Victorian society.
