Hardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good +. 1st Edition. 1st edition rust cloth hardcover with sharp tips and bumped spine ends. No names, tears or soil in the 84 pp heavy stock text. Does have foxing on endpps & paste downs, text clear. Unclipped dj is in fab shape, it is a professional reproduction that shows faint surface soil on white background rear panel and a mild amt of age-toning on white portion of backstrip, still displays beautifully in new mylar wrapper. A work of fiction but with facts concerning the goings-on in the hunt field so it is not just entertainment but a bit of education as well. This is the story of Joey the pony and his life at Bramble Farm, the adventures which befell him whilst in Farmer Blake's care, and later when he is sold as a mount for young Susan Strong. Stories of his deeds and misdeeds in the hunting field are admirably supported by b/w line illustrations by T. Ivester Lloyd.

First Edition. 1st Edition, hardcover in red cloth covered boards, gilt spine title, ends and tips still sharp, page-block is foxed with 2 specks of surface soil and its top edge dyed yellow. 110pp text is tight and crisp with bright B/W pencil sketches and no writing or highlighting inside. Original dj is unclipped with a small crease, couple of closed tears and spine is chipping but has been repaired and lined with matching paper, white backgrounds of flaps and rear panel foxed but displays well in new mylar. When Mr. Crowther decides to leave his flat in London and move to a cottage in the country, his two children Pam and Tony see to it that the family moves to Ashgrove on the edge of 'the Heath' where they have previously spent a happy riding holiday. 'The Heath' is a part of the country not unlike the New Forest, where deer run in the beechwoods, and a herd of native ponies runs free over the heather. Here Pam and Tony are among friends and are soon out riding. Soon, too, they discover that someone is trying to trap and capture Midnight, the black pony stallion that has been put out with the wild ponies to improve the breed.
