Offered here is a 1922 Medical book on Digestive Disorders that has taken quite a journey in its life - from Paris after WWI to La Crosse, Wisconsin, where its owner set up his practice afterWWI. "Lecons de Pathologie digestive", by M. Loeper, Paris: Massion et Cie, 1922, 348 pages in original wraps as issued. Measures 5 3/4" X 9 1/4". Illustrated and has several pages of period ads for Medical works by the publisher at rear. Shows a great deal of wear and binding is complete but barely holding on in some places, spine is all but the book shows well. With the inscription from Dr. James Evans dated August 1922. Dr. Evans was an ambulance driver for the Red Cross, as was his father and brothers. He was wounded at the end of the war and ended up studying Medicine in Paris. His specialty was Gastroeneterology and he used this book. Then after the war, he came back to the La Crosse, Wisconsin where he set up his practice.
