Appear as if straight from the publisher, and just out of their original packing boxes. Quarto hardcover format, measuring 10 3/4" wide by 6 3/4" deep x 13 1/4" tall, weighing nearly 25 pounds. With nearly 2000 images, mostly in full color. Edited by Catherine Loewer, and with contributionsby her, Pascal Bonafoux, Jorge Eduardo, Raquel Tibol and many, many others. The contents are as follows: Volume 1: 1974-1983 (2010, [11], 12-427 pp); Volume 2: 1984-1993 (2010, [123], 13-459 pp.); Volume 3: 1994-2004 [12], 13-469 pp.). A fine and due homage to the Nicaraguan painter, draftsman and lithographer, Mr. Armando Morales, profiling his completed works from 1974 forward. His Wikipedia entry notes his international fame since the 1960s that was built upon construction of overlarge, boldly painted geometric abstractions. He then transitioned to some of the rudiments and fine points of Surrealism and then to the painting and other forms of representation of nudes and also to his home country of Nicaragua. From one of the many contributors to the catalogue raisonne, "With his paintings he is not trying to exert public pressure or to stimulate patriotic and nationalistic ideals in his native country, nor does he conceive of his art as a stabilising force for a people on a slow path to recovery. His is a purely aesthetic exercise" (Raquel Tibol). Apparently unread volumes, spines still crackle.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
