Bilbao, s.f. 32x25, 17p (inc. port. a una tinta, algunas anotaciones a lápiz, rasgadura restaurada en margen inferior de pp.7-10). - Luigi Truzzi (1799-1864) hizo para Ricordi reducciones para piano de diversas óperas, en especial de Verdi - entre otras, de 'La forza del destino' e 'Il due Foscari'.

Eseguito dalla Banda della Guardia Nazionale al Regio Teatro della Scala. Trascrizione per pianofrte e canto o pianoforte solo di Luigi Truzzi. L'Inno di Garibaldi, noto in origine come Canzone italiana, è uno dei più famosi inni patriottici del Risorgimento. Venne eseguito per la prima volta a Genova il 31 dicembre 1858 in casa di un amico di Garibaldi, il conte Gabriele Camozzi allo Zerbino, alla presenza di Nino Bixio e dei fratelli Bronzetti. Il testo fu richiesto dallo stesso Garibaldi a Luigi Mercantini. L'autore della musica, Alessio Olivieri, fu capo-musica nel 2° Reggimento Brigata Savoia. Il 25 aprile 1859 l'inno venne cantato la prima volta in pubblico da volontari di Garibaldi: piacque, ma non ebbe immediata diffusione. Solo con la campagna del 1860 ottenne grande popolarità. In origine l'inno terminava con l'ultimo verso dell'ottava strofa Son tutte una sola le cento città. Dopo la conquista della Sicilia, Mercantini aggiunse le strofe successive.
