Unpaginated but circa 80pp, with colour plate frontispiece, six further colour plate illustrations and many full page drawings and drawings in text. Pictorial paper-covered boards with canvas over spine. Grey… endpapers. 4to. Covers are worn and a little faded, rubbed at edges, bumped on corners and ends of sunned spine, shelf worn. Text block edges a little toned. Prize presentation plate on front paste down. Front free endpaper has a little offset toning. Some faint and occasional spotting else internally neat and clean.

Edited by Mabel Mackintosh, a British writer of children's fiction. In the original quarter cloth binding with pictorial paper covered boards. Externally, sound with rubbing and light chipping to the extremities resulting in minor loss. Fading to the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound with the title page detached but present. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot or handling mark. Further spotting with minor age toning to the endpapers. Good. Aug 1929." Quarto. *A bright copy of this thick paper nursery books for infants and with none of the myriad of line drawings coloured in (miraculously). A couple of the tales use words that may offend, due to views of the time.

Rear board is in plain grey with a few small marks. Spine a little crushed to head and base. Boards are bumped and scuffed to corners. Binding good but not strong. Frontispiece colour illustration and 7 further colour plates, some detached from the text block but all intact. Unpaginated sequence of stories with b/w in-text illustrations.
