Assembled by Californian businessman and graphic designer, Jerome Gould from the 1960s to the early 1980s, it was gifted to the Museum by Arnott's Biscuits Ltd in 1993 - coinciding with the Year of the World's Indigenous People. The collection features works from important artists and represents the creative hubs in and around Groote Eylandt, Yirrkala, Galiwin'ku (Elcho Island), Milingimbi, Ramingining, Gunbalanya (Oenpelli), Wadeye (Port Keats), and the Tiwi Islands over time.
