small folio [32 x 25 cm]; 40 pp, 10 mounted color plates with tissue guards, on art paper, glossary. original cloth-backed boards, lightly soiled, light wear at edge, a little foxed, hinges cracked but holding, plates clean and bright, good+. Hinges starting to crack and scattered foxing, including title page; otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by 10 colour plates, some with tissue guards, mounted on grey paper with captions opposite. Attractively illustrated identification guide to ten classes of British orchids, with text by botanical writer, James Stuart Fraser Mackenzie (b.1843).
