Cross-banded spines with light gilt lines, gilt titles to maroon spine-plates, spine have surface wear and are slightly flaky with some rubbing and ends are worn of. Leather boards have wear to edges, heavy wear to corners with rubbing, white paper tape to hinge side of Vol II, marks of tape to other board surface at this point, hinge-edges have slight chiopping. End-papers to Vol IV are browned to edges, slight foxing to title-page. Text is very clean for age. Vol II has been used as a working copy & has ink writing all over front end-papers, pencil to rear, many pencil undelinings, annotations and ticks to margins and many page corners folded down - (this is irritating!!), light foxing to title-page, text is otherwise unimpeded. Page edges fall with line in both volumes and binding feels sound. Need attention.
