This is a collection of biographical sketches written by George Macdonald of Lairg (1846-1930) of some of the proiminent figures in the religious life of the district and county of Sutherland. They first appeared as occasional articles in the 'Free Church Monthly', and in this book they have been divided into the following categories: Ministers of Sutherland, Men of Sutherland, and Godly Women in Sutherland.
