Impresa al titolo, finalini e numerose illustrazioni n.t. di strumenti, il tutto in xilografia. Con 8 belle tavole numerate I-VII in curiosa carta arancione fuori testo, e colorate da mano coeva. Prima edizione, rara, di questo opera del chimico e farmacista di origini calabresi, ma formatosi a Napoli sotto la guida di Vincenzo Pepe. Primo direttore della Scuola di Farmacia di Napoli, Mamone Capria partecipò attivamente ai moti risorgimentali, e per tale ragione costretto all'esilio nell'isola di Ventotene. Di tali vicende politiche fa menzione anche Luigi Settembrini nelle Ricordanze della mia vita.
