Indexed. xvi, 411 pp. FROM THE PREFACE: "The annals of the Wolverhampton School have long been neglected. A school, with a history of over four hundred years, has hitherto been dismissed in a few uncertain paragraphs. Speech makers at prize distributions have reiterated the vague and timeworn facts of the school's past in pitiable destitution. The present volume, in being the work of an outsider, is an exception to the rule; but most people have something better to do than to spend their spare time and money in continuous historical research, and at the time when I turned my attention in this direction there seemed very small likelihood of anyone else bringing the matter to a close. I owe apologies to all Old Wulfrunians for taking from them the task which is undoubtedly theirs."CONDITION: Cover shows wear and some soiling. Pages are sometimes uncut at the head and foredge throughout. Light foxing and discoloration, (particularly within the endpapers), yet leaves have evenly toned, are free from marginalia or creasing, and pagination is complete. A previous owners name, E. H. Phillips, is written in pencil on the front flyleaf, dated 1913. A nice find. Full refund if not satisfied.
