Softcover. Condizione: Near Fine. First Edition Thus. A Wikipedia entry about him notes that Gerhard Marcks (18 February 1889 ? 13 November 1981) "was a German artist, known primarily as a sculptor, but who is also known for his drawings, woodcuts, lithographs and ceramics." Sturdy, still tightly bound softcover copy, moderate wear of covers, virtually none to text-block, but with neither underlining nor highlighting. Perfectly readable, usable copy. German language text, Vorwort by Martina Rudloff, two-columned poem by Rainer Maria Rilke inside rear flap, and replete with black-and-white and duotone reproductions of Marcks' finest work to date including illustrations, engravings and woodcuts. Bound in stiff card wraps, with blazingly bright black lettered title over white paper affixed neatly to front cover. Light toning and sunning to edges, nick to spine top, else nearly pristine of interior. Unpaginated, but roughly 40 pp.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
