Aggiungi al carrelloHardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good. Jacket and illustrations by Lily R. Phillips (illustratore). 1st Edition. First edition first impression, adapted to be the first UK impression by sticky labels adding the publisher Frederick Muller Ltd on title page and British price on front inside flap. Some edge wear, chipping and short closed tears to top and bottom of largely white jacket and spine, some browning to white parts of jacket, slight backwards lean, corners rubbed and bruised with tiny loss, American price clipped from top of front inside flap and substituted by British publisher's price sticker (£3.50), small old charity stamp to ffep, no inscriptions, internally clean and tight, overall a vg copy for its age. 121pp, illustrated. A collection of Danish fairy tales by Danish folklorist, novelist and satirist Carl Ewald (1856-1908). I have been able to find out very little about Margaret Sperry, beyond the fact that she was a prolific children's author and translator of Scandinavian folk tales, and spent sixteen years studying in Scandinavia. A scarce book, especially in this British adaptation.
