He has written "AWF Fuller 17/08/1904 (see page 23) A "New Edition" 1871" On the ffep a brief letter has been stuck onto the page which appears to be from the author, dated 1857, to Dr. French of Lewes. He gives thanks to the recipient and offers "my little account of Bodiam." He signs off with a rather flamboyant and ornate autograph.
