This copy is signed and inscribed on the half-title page, 'to Mopsy and Tom, from the author of 9/62 of this book, with 62/62 love, Ken Parkes.' Parkes is thanked in the Acknowledgements of the book for allowing Mrs. Bond to reprint his essay, 'On Her Majesty's Ornithological Service' in this book. A neat association copy of a scarce book. This volume comes from the collection of Dr. Thomas Lovejoy, who was a passionate book collector as well as a renowned biologist.
