Margaretha Geertruida Zelle 1876-1917) war eine holländisc…he Tänzerin die mit indisch inspirierten exotisch-erotischen Tänzen auftrat, bei denen sie ein echtes indisches Musikensemble begleitete. Wegen angeblicher Spionage für die Deutschen wurde sie 1917 verhaftet, zum Tode verurteilt und hingerichtet. Es ist bis heute nicht geklärt ob sie tatsächlich die raffinierte Doppelagentin war, als die sie verurteilt wurde oder nur ein Opfer der französischen Militärgerichtsbarkeit. Die Legenden und Spekulationen über ihr Leben und ihren Tod sind schier endlos. Die Wahrheit wird aber wohl erst 2017, wenn die französische Regierung die bis heute geheimen Gerichtsakten frei gibt, genauer untersucht werden können. Der holländische Autor befasste sich sein Leben lang mit Mata Hari und vorliegendes Buch gilt als die fundierteste Arbeit zur Biographie der Tänzerin. Wagenaar (1908-1997) war Drehbuchautor, Fernseh - und Photojournalist. Er kehrte bei Kriegsende mit den amerikanischen Truppen aus der Emigration nach Hause zurück und arbeitete als Photojournalist bei der Befreiung von Paris, in Auschwitz, Berlin und bei den Nürnberger Prozessen. Neben vorliegendem Buch entstanden auch Fernsehdokumentationen und das Drehbuch zu einem Mata Hari-Spielfilm. (2. Exemplar wie oben. It was then staged off-Broadway in 1968, at the Theatre de Lys (then known as the Lucille Lortel Theater) under the new title "Ballad for a Firing Squad," only running for 15 performances. In 1996, the show was revived at the York Theatre, under the original title, but unfortunately met with a similar fate to its predecessors. Black Studio Duplicating Service titled wrappers. Title page present, dated August, 1968, noted as Revised, with credits for Coopersmith and playwrights Martin Charnin and Edward Thomas. 91 leaves, with last page of text numbered 2-7-29. Dennoch basieren die Erzählstränge wiederum skizzenhaft auf realen Begebenheiten, die sich in Teilen so ähnlich irgendwo im besten Deutschland aller Zeiten abgespielt haben.Mit dem Abstand zum Milieu verklärte sich Ninas Rückblick. Als Marius, ihr ehemaliger Zuhälter, sie aufsucht, kam es wie es kommen musste: Nina kehrte in den Klub zurück, wobei sie den Ehevertrag mit Bernd geschickt in ihrem Sinne interpretierte. Nun aber ging sie nicht nur darum selbst anzuschaffen, sondern sie half aktiv mit, andere Frauen für das Gewerbe zu gewinnen ¿ sogar ihre beste Freundin. Statt abzustillen machte Nina ihre großen Milchspender zum Fetisch nicht nur für ihre Freier sondern auch für sie selbst. Schnell gibt sie ihre Vorsätze auf und gerät tiefer in einen Strudel voller Ereignisse, die sie selbst mit herbeiführt, aber bald nicht mehr kontrolliert. Am Ende ist sie zwar die beste Nutte der Stadt, Männer und Frauen liegen ihr zu Füßen, aber ihren Erfolg auskosten kann sie nicht. Erst wird der Klub geschlossen, dann verliert Bernd seine Arbeit. Trotzig gründen sie ein eigenes Bordell, wo sie als 24-Jährige zur Puffmutter wird. Die Zuhälter lassen jedoch nicht locker Wie lange kann sie den Schein ihrer Unabhängigkeit bewahren? Trotzig macht sie weiter, unterstützt von Bernd.
