Ring Around the Bases: The Complete Baseball Stories of Ring Lardner, published by Easton Press in 1996, is a collection of 34 short stories that showcase Ring Lardner?s satirical and humorous take on baseball and American life in the early 20th century. Edited with an introduction by Matthew J. Bruccoli, this anthology captures Lardner?s insider perspective as a former Chicago sports reporter covering the Cubs and White Sox. The stories, including classics like ?Alibi Ike? and ?My Roomy,? explore the quirks, egos, and absurdities of baseball players, blending sharp dialogue, colorful characters, and witty wordplay. The collection also includes ?The Courtship of T. Dorgan,? an uncollected story added to make this the definitive compilation of Lardner?s baseball fiction.

First edition thus - Cambridge Edition. xx, 202pp. The Great Gatsby was first published in 1925 and reprinted many times, Yet, before the present volume, no edition has printed the novel exactly as Fitzgerald wrote it. From its first edition onwards, the text has been subject to rigorous house-styling that has distorted the characteristic rhythms and structure of his sentences. This critical edition draws on the manuscript and surviving proofs of the novel, together with Fitzgerald's subsequent revisions to key passages. The book is bound in the original blue boards with gold titling on the spine. The case of the book is in very good condition with light bumping to the bottom corners and top of the spine and slightly heavier bumping to the bottom of the spine. The contents are tight and clean with no inscription. The unclipped dustwrapper is very good with some shelf wear and bumping to the spine ends.
