Born in 1871 in Lewisham, British children's author Maud Augusta Mary Morin was the daughter of Town Surveyor Henry David Morin, and his wife, Alice Elizabeth Burton. She was educated at the King's School, Warwick, and was most likely employed as an English teacher at a girls' high school herself.
