Stamping a bit rubbed, but quite handsome and characteristic of late 19th century American publisher's bindings. Previous owner's bookplate on front attached endpaper, and inscription on front free endpaper. Fore edge slightly foxed. Pages otherwise are free of marks or tears. Color frontispiece, and color illustrations throughout. Binding is strong.
