Fore and lower page edges are untrimmed. Corners turned. Scuffs to lower part of the upper boards. The books look a little tatty, but text-blocks and pages are in good condition. Volume I scuffed on lower front corner. Hinge between fixed and free front end papers is cracked leaving the upper board with some freedom. Volume II-Three small holes to front edge of spine, fragment of cloth lost at lower spine.

A little foxing t…o an early prelim, clean and clear within. Rough cut pages, with some pages remaining uncut as was normal. Internally clean and firmly bound. Very nice. Heavy book so just might require a little extra postage to destinations outside of UK. P. Chenevix Trench (illustratore).
