The first edition of 'Australian Aboriginal Decorative Art' was published in 1938. This sixth edition (1962) by F. D. (Frederick) McCarthy has three full-page illustrations added and several additions have been made to the bibliography. Most of the material described and illustrated is housed in the Australian Museum, Sydney.
