Né à Grenoble, André-Joseph Mécou (1771-1837), graveur assez peu connu, réalisa ultérieurement une suite de 24 portraits de la famille impériale.Le buste de Jean-Antoine Houdon d'où cette estampe a é…té tirée semble bien être celui de Napoléon en uniforme, encore jeune, le regard vers la droite, avec une mèche centrale, dont un exemplaire en plâtre est présenté sur le site de la RMN.Absent de De Vinck. - - VENTE PAR CORRESPONDANCE UNIQUEMENT - LIEN DE PAIEMENT, NOUS CONSULTER.

Aggiungi al carrelloL'incisione presenta Maria Luigia a mezzo busto in un ovale racchiuso in una decorativa cornice che vede, in alto al centro, la N di Napoleone racchiusa in una corona di alloro; sui lati le iniziali M ed L, mentre, in basso al centro, sono raffigurati gli stemmi di Francia ed Austria. L'opera, che traduce a stampa una miniatura,… venne esposta al Salon del 1812 (n° 1256) allo stesso tempo dell'originale dipinto da Isabey; infatti per l'occasione l'artista portò in mostra una collection de portraits, d'après nature, de la famille impériale d'Autriche (n° 500). Il lavoro del Mécou venne deposto solo il 22 giugno 1813 e nella rivista Moniteur del 14 luglio dello stesso anno si legge: "Ce portrait [la miniature d'Isabey] faisait partie de la charmante collection de ceux de la famille impériale d'Autriche, qui ont, au Salon dernier, valu de si justes éloges à la facilité, à l'imagination et au goût delicat de leur auteur?Il paraît quel es principaux portraits de cette collection seront seccessivament gravés. Celui que nous annonçons devait être désiré et paraître le premier?". (Roux 1929: IV, p. 573)Primo stato, senza l'indicazione dell'indirizzo dell'Isabey, di cui, nell'angolo in basso a destra, compare solamente il timbro. Importante porre l'attenzione sui titoli attribuiti a Maria Luigia la quale, dopo il 15 aprile 1813, era stata nominata dal marito, Regente.
