In 1907, the art historian Georg Biermann and the publisher Werner Klinkhardt founded the Klinkhardt & Biermann publishing bookstore in Leipzig. The series "Junge Kunst" (New Art), a modern art-historical collection of bibliophile monographs on the European avant-garde of the early 20th century, caused a sensation. There were already proven but also developing artists such as Max Pechstein, Pablo Picasso, Emil Nolde, Heinrich Campendonk, Paula Modersohn-Becker, Otto Dix, Oskar Kokoschka, Vincent van Gogh or Paul Klee. Ludwig Meidner (born April 18, 1884 in Bernstadt an der Weide ( Silesia ), died May 14, 1966 in Darmstadt ) was a German Expressionist painter and poet and graphic artist. Zwischen 1927 und 1932 entstehen so rund 100 feuilletonistische Texte, die etwa zur Hälfte in Berliner Zeitungen veröffentlicht wurden.
