André Masson (1896 in Balagny-sur-Thérain; 1987 in Par…is) war ein französischer Maler, Grafiker und Bildhauer. Anfangs war Masson vom Kubismus beeinflusst. Er schloss sich später den Surrealisten an, verließ diese jedoch bald wieder, als die Gruppe um André Breton zerstritten war. Masson war ein enger Freund von Georges Bataille, der zu Beginn der 1930er Jahre die sog. "dissidenten" Surrealisten um sich sammelte. André Masson war Teilnehmer der documenta 1 (1955), der documenta II (1959), und auch der documenta III im Jahr 1964 in Kassel. Sprache: fr Size: 4°. fr (illustratore).

Poèmes de René Char " L'Extravagant ".Queneau Chêne et Chien et Georges Bataille L'Archangélique sont des tirés à part de la revue " Messages ". Très bel état. Exceptionnel ensemble complet des années 1939-1946 de cette revue de la " Résistance lyrique " dirigée par Jean Lescure, en édition originale, dont le nom a été modifié au cours des années pour déjouer la censure (" Exercice du silence " en déc. 1942, " Domaine français " en 1943.), publiée une année (1943) à Genève pour exister, et qui n'éditait et publiait que des poètes refusant les idées nazies et de l'Occupation. La revue est avant tout poétique, valorisant une rhétorique qui " échappe " ou " transcende " les événements historiques, et qui par conséquent soit synonyme de " liberté ". Y sont présents les plus grands auteurs du XXe siècle.En 1938 3 numéros sont parus à l'enseigne : Les Presses du Hibou chez Jean Flory.
