The books are half-bound in green morocco over gorgeous rose pink and green marbled boards with two raised bands on the spine. Sun-toned and faded leather has changed to tan on most surfaces. Top edges bright gilt. Marbled endpapers. With the exception of Vol.III the books are in very good condition with very light shelf wear. In Vol.III the front hinge is cracked, but the sewn text block is tight.The first free endpaper and the next leaf have come free from the binding and there are no missing pages. The large folding color map of London is intact, smooth and flat. Period bookplate of the previous owners on the front paste-downs in all volumes. Otherwise, pages are ivoried, clean, and unmarked. Profusely illustrated with color and black and white plates. Vol.IV includes the foldout map of "English Britain" intact and in fine condition. Too lage ot ship outside of the United States.
