Binding of cloth with beveled boards is in pretty rough shape, edges worn, corners worn through and bumped, staining, etc. Cover lettering and design still quite readable. Recased with more modern spine gold lettering "Roundell's Cowdray, 1884", with spine ends worn and chipped, etc. Internally, 4 previous owner names to front paste down and FFEP. All that said, the text block is in good condition, some foxing more so to the first 4 pages or so. Plates are all present.
