Beige paper over boards and spine with black lettering on the spine. Shellac finish to boards.Deckled fore edge and bottom of textblock. Clean internally. Inner hinges are sound and not split. 222 pp 8vo. This book begins at the end of WWI with an American soldier (Sydney) waiting to be discharged from the Army and gets an apartment in Paris while he waits. He becomes enamored with the life and marries a French girl. Home matters catch up with him and he appointed to care for the John Adams museum. His life goes on as does the life in Paris and the years pass by as he fails to write in his diary. A son is born and Sydney enjoys his son, and his wife Monique until the Germans arrive in 1936 and his life changes again as the family scatters, he returns to America and then joins the Algerian Army up to July 1944 and can now head to Paris and the life style he enjoyed with family and friends. A clean very presentable copy. …

Chuck Jones referred to Noble as "the architect of our films." Noble started in animation at Disney. He worked on Snow White, The Rite of Spring sequence for Fantasia, and Dumbo. He designed the backgrounds and art direction for the award winning Bugs Bunny film: What's Opera Doc?, and the Daffy Duck film: Duck Dodgers in the 24 1/2 Century. He created the look of the Road Runner cartoons. After 1960 Noble received a co-directing credit on films with Chuck Jones, including the Oscar Winner: The Dot and the Line (based on the book by Norton Juster).
