Translated into French by Charles Nodier. In fair condition. Covers appear worn; boards exposed along edges and hinges quite fragile, especially front hinge, which is splitting. Front gutter is cracked, but text block remains tightly bound, with no loose signatures. Pages are toned with age, but are free of foreign markings. Beautiful illustrations throughout, protected by tissue guards. Quite a lovely book, even with its worn appearance -- the original English is printed opposite the French translation, page by page. …
