Decorative Cloth. Condizione: Good. Mathias Noheimer (illustratore). First Edition. Normandie House, Chicago, IL,1938. First Edition, turquoise Hardcover, no DJ, 134 pp. This copy is INSCRIBED "For Merriwell Hobbs - Something romantic in blue, Cordially, August Derleth." Beautiful turquoise & black interior illustrations by Noheimer. A short novel, probably the first book in Derleth's Sac Prairie Saga, A sad intense tale of lost love. This copy is stamped "Methodist Home Library" on front endpapers and on page 41; also my name-stamp on FFEP. Spine faded. Also has odd V-shaped, almost unnoticable grooves along outer text-block edge and similar grooves on some inside pages - does not harm book or clarity of text -- seems to be a defect produced when book was being printed. Covers show considerable edgewear, some fraying, one tear at top back of spine. No library cards or other marks. A reasonably good copy of a rare book. Signed by Author(s).
